Goals & Objectives

Our Goals...

Our goals include pursuing recognition with other reputable breed clubs and organizations in North America.  We have been working towards the privilege to show not only in conformation but also to participate in obedience and agility.  Our long term goal is to gain recognition within the AKC.  At all times breeding only healthy dogs to eliminate any possible health problems behind the breed.  To educate the public about Biewers.  We believe in breeding Biewer to Biewer only.

Our Objectives...

1) Assistance and encouragement shall be willingly offered by members to educate novices and others needing advice and guidance.   The welfare of the breed will be in their hands in the future.

2) All dogs will be kept under safe and sanitary conditions, be given maximum health care and protection, including regular inoculations and proper nutrition.

3) Biewer puppies will not be sold or consigned to pet stores, agents, or other commercial enterprises nor sold to disreputable breeders, and neither puppies nor stud services will be offered as prizes or for raffles.

4) Prospective buyers will be screened as thoroughly as possible to determine their intent, as relationship with all Biewer puppies or adults is our desire.

5) All puppies and dogs offered for sale will be sold with written sales agreements to include clear terms and conditions and be signed by the seller and buyer.  The contract will request that the seller be contracted in the event that at any time the owner is unable or unwilling to keep the dog, it will be the obligation of the seller to assist in the placement of the dog in question.

6) Puppies shall be sold to prospective pet owners only after a full blood panel and all appropriate testing.

7) Stud service will be offered only by German or American registered True Biewers to healthy German or American registered Biewer bitches of sound temperament.  DNA testing of all puppies to assure the authenticity of the breed.

8) Dogs and Bitches should be free of serious congenital and hereditary defects.  Stud service will be refused for any mating which is considered to not be in the best interest of the breed.

9) Breeders will provide puppy buyers with written details of feeding schedules, general care, date and types of a minimum of two (2) vaccinations and 3 de-worming.  Grooming instruction and future advice shall be provided as needed.

10) Above document can be amended as progress is made in the development and acceptance of the breed.

11) A breeder/member shall strive to conform to the Biewer Standard to improve progeny, hereditary health problems and to reduce faults to a minimum.

12) Members shall comply with the rules of the BBCA concerning record keeping, registration, identification, sale, and transfer of dogs.  these rules are essential in order to gain future acceptance into the American Kennel Club.

13) Members shall refer potential puppy purchasers to other reputable breeders, who maintain the idea of pure Biewer lines and to be helpful and courteous to those who request information about the breed.

14) All stud dogs and bitches shall be screened prior to breeding for both infectious and hereditary diseases using the generally accepted and available techniques.  DNA testing shall be done on all studs and bitches.

15) A breeder-member selling puppies or offering stud services shall fully disclose to potential clients any serious or disabling hereditary defects, including the reasonable possibility of such defects.

16) A member shall not defame another member nor seek to impair a member's reputation; however, a member shall report any serious situation that is detrimental to the breed or is inconsistent with these principles.

17) A member's advertising shall be professional in appearance and location, shall not contain any misleading photography, or misleading terminology such as  "Tri-colored Yorkies" or "Parti Yorkies."
